Mr.McMurray the assistant principal here at Pinckney Community Highschool was voted staff of the week on Friday April 17, 2026. He was recognized for his powerful leadership, unique perspective, and his ability to handle difficult situations. His first year of teaching was in 1999 and he has been an administrator since 2009. Before becoming an administrator he taught history, science, webpage design, and archaeology. He was inspired to work in education because “the teachers and coaches that I had in middle school and high school were instrumental in changing my arc of life. They were positive people who believed in me before I believed in me. Now, I simply want to give back what I was given.”
One piece of advice he would give students is to Never, Never, Never Give Up and always remember Hard Things are Hard. When asked about why he loves working at Pinckney he said “I love being an administrator and getting to spend time with students challenging scenarios, helping staff members reach students, and working with families to help them deal with their wonderfully amazing young human!”
One hidden talent Mr.McMurray has is that he always finishes what he starts. His next task of completion is his educational doctorate. He has three chapters to finish in his dissertation. He will do it as long as he will remember, “Hard Things are Hard.” If Mr.McMurray was trapped on a deserted island books would be the Bible and The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway. His movie would be The Godfather II. Overall Mr.McMurray is a beneficial part of our school and students and staff appreciate everything he does.
