This school year Pinckney High school Student Government gained two new advisors, Jason Bayush and Reagan Beaver.
Jason Bayush is the health and physical education teacher at the high school. He has been teaching for 20 years, 5 of those in Pinckney. Bayush already had an interest in Student Government from his time at a previous school. “[S]o when the opportunity arose and I found an amazing co-advisor, I thought it was time to take over”. Bayush has been a part of many amazing events with Student Government but there has been one thing in particular that has been his favorite: “Getting to meet new kids. I don’t always see every type of kid so getting to meet kids with different interests and skills has been very exciting”
Reagan Beaver has been a Special Education teacher for 2 years at Pinckney High school where she specializes in giving extra care to students in mathematics. Ms. Beaver decided to take over Student Government, “[B]ecause I saw an area of need and wanted to help in any way I could plus Mr. Bayush can be pretty convincing!”
Along with Mr. Bayush, Ms. Beaver has attended leadership conferences with Student Government along with other events but her favorite part has been, “It has given me the chance to meet and connect with students I might not have otherwise crossed paths with. I’ve loved supporting them as they plan and lead events”.
Mr. Bayush and Ms. Beaver have been amazing advisors and all of the Student Government would like to say “Thank you!”
