October’s Pink Week

Starting Monday, October 13,  Pinckney High School will begin Pink Week in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Each day will have its own theme in dedication to inspire involvement. For further details, see the list below.

Pinckney’s goal for Pink Week, created by the Pinckney High School student government, is to gather our community and support breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and continued research.

When asked what makes participating in Pink Week important, Sunora Mayes shares, “It lifts the school spirit and makes us feel connected and specifically strengthens the relationship with the cause”.

According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 42,170 women and 510 men in the United States are projected to die from breast cancer in 2025.

By participating in Pink Week, we stand in solidarity with patients and survivors, raising awareness about the importance of prevention, treatment, and the ongoing need for support and research.
