The Artemis II was a crewed lunar flyby mission. The crew was NASA’s Reid Wiseman (Commander), Victor Glover (Pilot), Christana Koch (Mission Specialist), and alongside was CSA’s Jermey Hansen (Mission Specialist).
They took off on April 1, 2026 and came back on April 10, 2026. They did a figure-eight trajectory around the moon. It covered over 685000 miles. They launched for Kennedy Space Center.This was the first time since 1972.
The splashdown was in the pacific ocean near San Diego, California. They splashed down at 8:07pm. The recovery team was NASA’s Landing And Recovery team and also the U.S Navy Personnel. The mission went very well and was a successful mission.
