Pinckney Varsity Girls Basketball

With a current record of 6-7, the team is gaining momentum at a crucial point in the season.

Monday night’s win against Danville marked a turning point, as the team secured a 45-36 victory through disciplined defense and consistent scoring.

Offensively, the team has been led this season by Riley Smith, Brooklyn Reason, and Addison Wrobleski, who have provided reliable scoring and leadership on the court.

Despite being a smaller team height wise, the offense has been especially effective inside, using quick ball movement and strong finishes at the basket to score against bigger opponents.

Defensively, the team primarily runs a 2-3 zone, which has proven to be highly effective.

The zone has allowed the team to limit open looks, force though shots, and control the tempo of games, including Monday’s win.

Looking ahead, the team faces Lincoln tonight 1/28/26 followed by a home matchup against Chelsea this Friday.

Next Friday’s winterfest game against Jackson is expected to be one of the most competitive mashups of the seas, with both teams beginning with strong energy and talent on the court.

As the season continues the combination of defensive discipline, inside scoring, and balanced leadership positions the team well for a strong finish.
