On December 6th, 2025, Student Government hosted a dinner for senior citizens in the community.
This is an annual event that is hosted at the congregational church in downtown Pinckney. Each year the student government puts out advertisements around the community to get the word out to the senior citizens as well as reaching out to Wellbridge to see if they would like to bring some or their residents also.
During the event, Student Government has it’s students cooking the dinner. It’s always the choice of spaghetti or alfredo with meatballs, salads and Texas toast.
Students also provide home made desserts to enjoy after dinner.
While those students cook, others will do coloring pages and talk to the seniors then we switch to playing bingo for prizes, gift cards then we follow that up with holiday trivia.
We also bring in students from the orchestra to play some Christmas music in the background.
This event is a great way to make the senior citizens in our community more connected during the holidays. Mr.Bayush said, “That it is always nice to see the students connect with the senior citizens in the community.”
