On Monday January 12, 2026 Mrs.Richardson the math interventionist and beloved middle school and high school cheer coach at Pinckney Community Highschool was voted staff of the week. She has taught math for 3 years and then tutored after that. Although this is the first year Mrs.Richardson has worked as a math interventionist she has been involved in Pinckney Community Schools for 20 years. When asked about being voted staff of the week Mrs.Richardson said “I am so honored to be voted staff of the week. I love my job here because my main job is to just go into the classes and help as much as possible. It’s an honor to be recognized for that.”
One piece of advice Mrs.Richardson would give students is “I would love to encourage everyone to keep trying! Find that one adult or friend that can help you. I promise you can do it if you just put the work in. Possibilities are then going to be endless!” Something she likes about helping kids is “I really enjoy helping kids reach that “lightbulb” moment, when things finally click! Seeing their confidence in math grow is rewarding, and I hope it helps them to keep moving forward and believing in themselves.”
Mrs.Richardson was inspired to work with kids because “I’ve always enjoyed working with kids of all ages. But this job allows me to find the students that just need a little help and get them back on track. If I can get them through a test, or an entire math class, that they didn’t think they could do, that is very rewarding.” Student and staff of the week is an opportunity to highlight and honor someone from our school. So make sure you look in your email for the form to get your votes every Friday!
