On October 10th, 2025,  one of the several new teachers, Mrs. Mitton-Hahn, was asked a few questions about being a new teacher at Pinckney Community High School.

Mrs. Mitton-Hahn is Pinckney’s new foods, bake shop, and holiday cooking teacher. In addition to teaching food classes, she is also the new psychology teacher. She has taught for approximately six years and in addition to teaching, she has been working with families and kids for over 30 years.

When Mrs. Mitton-Hahn was asked about starting her new job, she compared her former work place to Pinckney and she said that “Pinckney is a very welcoming school and a beautiful place.” She also said that she has been “adjusting very well at Pinckney.”

The staff and students are glad she has been able to find her place at Pinckney. Many students from her class have said that the class was engaging and interactive. Mrs. Mitton-Hahn makes her class fun by giving them their time to cook and making sure that they prioritize school.

One student said that “the cookies we made were very good.” Another student said that “making pancakes was very fun and a good skill to learn.”

Along with teaching students life skills by showing them how to cook; Mrs. Mitton-Hahn teaches the students skills of cleaning up after themselves.

Mrs. Mitton-Hahn also stated that “working in the food department is much more fun and interesting than working in psychology.”  One of Mrs. Mitton-Hahn’s favorite things to bake is chocolate chip cookies!

The students at Pinckney welcome Mrs. Mitton-Hahn with open arms to the community. They are glad to see her being a new addition to the staff and a benefit to our students and staff!
