PCHS Blood Drive

On November 13, 2025, PCHS hosted one of its many blood drives throughout the year.

The blood drive gives students and our community members the chance to make a difference. Donating blood through the Red Cross is a way to support people in need, because even just one single donation can save up to three lives.

The blood collected from the drives help patients who may be undergoing a surgery, facing medical emergencies, fighting illnesses, or even recovering from an injury.

Without our student body and our community, many of these individuals would not be able to receive the life saving support they are depending on.

Donating blood also comes with important responsibilites from the donators.

In order to donate you must be 17 years old or 16 with parental permission, to make sure they are physically ready and safe to give their blood. Donors also must be honest about their health, follow Red Cross’s guidelines, and take care of not only themselves but also the recipient of their blood.

This year’s blood drive at PCHS showed how wonderful a community can be.

NHS partnered with Red Cross to organize the event and worked hard to reach their goal of having at least 30 donors. Although 28 people showed, just shy of the goal, the outcome was still very positive.

With the 28 donations, the school and community helped to save around 84 lives.

Even without meeting their original goal of 30 donations, the impact was still very meaningful and shows how every single person who donates matters and can make a difference.

Overall, donating blood is one of the simplest yet most impactful ways to help save lives. The PCHS blood drive is a powerful example of how our community and student body, as well as NHS and the Red Cross can come together to help make a life saving difference.
