On November 22, 2024, a new film related to the witches of the Wizard of Oz: Wicked. The story mainly tells the story of Elphaba, a witch like no other with green skin color. Rejected by most people, she meets Galinda upon her admission to school. They have to share their rooms, nothing is easy at the beginning but they manage to find common ground. Galinda had initially accepted Elphaba to attract the attention of Madame Morrible since she had offered private lessons to Elphaba while it was Galinda’s dream. Elphaba receives an invitation letter for The Emerald City, upon her departure she invites Galinda to join her for the trip. Arriving there, they meet the Wizard of Oz where everything will not happen as planned. Elphaba decides to run away to escape the Wizard of Oz. Galinda, she submits to the Magician and tries to catch up with Elphaba but it is too late, their friendship is broken and nothing will ever be like before.
After this 2 hours and 40 minutes adventure, many fans wondered when part 2 would be released and if there would be one. On November 21, 2025, after almost a year of waiting, part 2 of Wicked was released.
Saturday November 21, Wicked for Good was released in the United States, a movie of 2 hours and 17 minutes. The movie tells us that now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba lives in exile in the Ozian forest, while Galinda resides at the palace in Emerald City, reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, she’ll need to reunite with Galinda to transform herself, and all of Oz, for good.
I found that this movie completed the first one very well while corresponding to the real story of the magician of Oz. A very good quality film, suitable for any age. The quality of the film is incredible, the special effects and shooting techniques are perfect. Most of the scenes are impressively well realized. I recommend this movie for children because it is very different and the story is fun for them but also for teenagers. However, you should know that this movie has a lot of musical parts so if you want to watch it, make sure you like the musical movies.
